The site transformation begins…
Rutherford House School is delighted to announce the appointment of Wilmot Dixon and Hunters Architects to design and develop our site at 217 Balham High Road.
The School Trust has already met with both companies to ensure the design and build of the school can meet the needs of our future pupils as well as support and enhance the delivery of an outstanding curriculum. The Department for Education has committed significant capital money to our project and we will be making sure that every penny spent is maximised to ensure that our site and buildings are something that our school and community can be proud of. Ideas have already been developed by the Architects which include play areas up to level 2 of the building, and a viewing area providing great views of London.
Claire Delaney, Chair of the Rutherford House School Trust, says:
‘This is a very exciting time for Rutherford House School as we see the vision that we have worked so hard to develop turned into a reality for the Balham community. The plans for our site will now be developed very quickly and we can’t wait to share them with pupils, parents and the community.’
Wilmot Dixon are currently preparing a construction programme that will be submitted to planners early in January 2013. Meanwhile, works can begin on re-modelling the inside spaces of the Youth Justice Courts.
We’ll be publishing plans on this site as soon as we can and will have a presentation from the architects at our January open events.
