Extra Curricular Activities

We are extremely proud to be able to support children in Extended School care from the age of four years old. We have been able to collaborate with parents, carers and children in order to maximise the provision that we provide and cater for the needs and interests of the children at our school. We are still open to ideas from outside agencies, parents and children in order to provide an extensive and personalised Extended Schools provision. Please do get in touch with Huma Valimohamed our Extended Schools Administator (huma.valimohamed@rutherfordhouseschool.co.uk) to find out more information.

We are aware of the difficulties of working parents who need to bring their children to school early and who cannot collect them at the end of afternoon lessons. We therefore offer wrap around care from 7:30am to 6.15pm Monday to Friday. This can be used on an ad hoc basis with appropriate notice or parents can register and pre-pay for the day care service before the start of each term via Parent Pay. Children staying beyond afternoon clubs are given afternoon tea after which a range of interesting games and recreational activities is available to them under the supervision of appointed staff.

We offer the following wrap around care provision:

Breakfast Club: 7.30am – 8.20am, £5.50 per day (ad hoc £6.50 per day)

Wrap Around Care 1: 3.20pm - 4.20pm, £5.00 per day (ad hoc £6.00 per day)

Wrap Around Care 2: 4.20pm - 6.15pm, £10.00 per day (ad hoc £11.00 per day)

Wrap around care finishes at 6.15pm, therefore parents and carers are asked to arrive at school no later than 6.10pm to allow time for collecting children. If you arrive after 6.15pm you will be charged £10.00 per 15 minutes you are late. This is per the terms and conditions on the Wrap Around Care policy.

Rutherford House encourages children to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities in the form of clubs. We expect each child to participate in at least one club as we believe that learning doesn’t just take place in the classroom. The clubs we offer enhance children’s learning experiences. The list of clubs on offer is extensive and although they may vary from term to term there are sports, music, French, dance and creative clubs on offer.
